Powerful!

Being part of the World Vision "Step Into Africa" exhibit has been such a blessing to me. My heart has been broken as I heard each of the stories of the 4 children. You really feel their pain and suffering and actually feel what they went through. The exhibit was very well done. It is not to be rushed through. I had the privilege to talk to many guests and heard words like "awesome," "wow" and saw many wiping tears from their eyes. I know I left with a lump in my throat from hearing the stories.

Keep It Going!

I have been a World Vision sponsor for 20 years. This AIDS Tour and display is wonderful in that it brings an overwhelming awareness to the epidemic of AIDS, especially in South Africa.

I was stationed at the "Sponsor A Child" booth, and I was truly thrilled at how many people came out of the village, already knowing they wanted to sponsor. I was prepared to convince as many as possible with my own testimony but the tour did most of the convincing.

Keep it going! Praise God!

All About The Children

This is the second year I have volunteered with "Step Into Africa." From the beginning I have been touched by the devotion, focus, and faith of the World Vision Tour Staff.

The first year, after we had set up the village, a trainer began our class by saying, "Remember with everything you do and everything you say, it's all about the children." That phrase has stuck with me. Remember the children. Every time I see a news report of the dire poverty in under developed nations, I think of the children. I do so because World Vision staff members were dedicated enough to travel thousands of miles setting up, taking down, and moving a whole village to let an uninformed America know about "the children." This week one of the guests said, "Thought World Vision was about helping the blind." People hearing it chuckled. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that World Vision does help a blind America see the dire need of hurting children and their families suffering from HIV/AIDS. The incredibly knowledgeable staff members fully equipped us to guide and help the Step Into Africa guests. Thank you, World Vision, for letting me be part of your dedicated effort to save and provide for those precious children.

For the Cost of my Morning Coffee

World Vision first affected me two years ago at a concert. Finding out about the poverty and problems outside of our USA bubble was shocking. And then even more shocking was how easy it can be to help the children. I never believed that the cost of my morning coffee would have been enough to sponsor a child. And then do all the things World Vision does for the children and their families. After two years and now sponsoring 3 kids, we attended and I volunteered at the "Step Into Africa" event. The event was even more of an eye-opener. I believe for the most part we know there is an AIDS crisis. But I never know or really thought about the effects it can have on kids. It was by far the best event I have been a part of and only wish I could do more.

Changing a Child's Life

I truly enjoyed World Vision's "Step Into Africa" experience. The photos and audio guided tour was very moving. I felt very connected to these children and will continue to pray for their health and safety. I enjoyed speaking to new sponsors about the joy you will receive from sponsorship. You are helping the children yet I feel I get much more back from knowing I'm helping change a child's life.
